Hey bookworms! It’s me again! I hope you guys like the posting more often. This post is another Top Ten Tuesday post which is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish! They give a theme and you have to answer the top 10 books that go along with it. Now this week’s theme is: Top 10 books I will never read, but I hate saying never simply because people change and tastes change, so I don’t want to say never, so instead here is what I am tweaking it to. Not all of these will get descriptions by the way hope you all don’t mind. As always the links for their goodreads are in the titles.
Top Ten Books That I Won’t Read Until the Hype Dies Down
1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
Honestly I love fantasy, but the way this is hyped I worry for disappointment. I may wait till the last book is out.
2. Unravel Me & Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
Now I have read the first book, but people lists one of the characters as their book boy friend and kind of spoiled a bit for me. I need to wait a bit before finishing this series and it makes me a little sad.
3. The Darkest Minds by Alexander Bracken
Another superpower book, but with the hype it makes me nervous that it won’t live up to it.
4. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Same problem that shatter me has with the fangirling over the villain and it kind of makes it hard to want to pick it up when the villain is found cute
5. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
6. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
7. To All the Boys I’ve loved Before by Jenny Haun
8. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
9. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
The hype with the mystery of this book for me makes me anxious because I will be very upset if I guess quick… I hate predicting too easily! So I am giving it a bit.
10. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
Even though I am waiting can I just say how much I like this cover!
Well bookworms there you have it! How do you feel about reading hyped books? Does the hype worry you at times? Are there any of these do you think I should really give a chance now? What did you do for your TTT? Link it down below I am always happy to talk about books! Hope you all are having a good week! Happy reading!

Shadow and Bone – the villain is meant to be good looking it’s part of his charm and adds to his evilness for me. I was very pleasantly surprised by this book.

I do plan on picking it up but maybe next year. Most of these I will at some point, but maybe from a library to be safe. Thank you for the comment! =]

I do that too, saves wasting money on books I am unsure of. 🙂

Kiss of Deception may be the only one I splurge on if it goes on sale… It does have a pretty cover =]

Half of the books that you listed I actually own though have yet to read. ahaha But I do know what you mean by overhyped books. I think it’s the fear of being disappointed once you read it and it didn’t meet your expectations, especially when people have nothing but good words about the book.

Exactly that’s why for most I may take the safe way and get them from the library over the summer =]

Ahhhh–I’ve read books when the hype “died down” (and it was still terrible). So I hope the best for you LOL.
On another note: I’m excited to see Me Early and the Dying Girl adapted on screen! (Since I’m obviously bad at reading the source material.)
Cheers,

I’m mostly avoiding them for spoils. I hope they are worth the wait!

I am with you as far as hype goes. It can often lead to disappointment, so I normally steer clear. On the other hand, there have been times when I break down and finally read it and want to kick myself for waiting so long.
I haven’t read The Knife of Never Letting Go, but I have a blog friend who raves about it. I have owned it for a long time. It is just one of those that I haven’t gotten to.

I’ve never felt bad for not reading a book sooner. Some books are like wine the longer you wait to read the better they are! Even though I don’t drink wine XD
