Hey Bookworms! How’s your day so far? Mine’s okay so far? So if you read my blog yesterday. You’ll know I’ve started a 30 Day Reading Challenge. My plan to keep my blog active and my mind busy! Here is Day 1 if you didn’t see it. Well let’s get started!
Day 2: A Book You’ve Read More than 3 Times
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Now deciding a book for today was a difficult decision. Don’t get me wrong I love this book, but it’s not the book I’ve read the most. I don’t want to have any repeats on this challenge though! I’ve read this book 5 times and each time it’s been a comfort to me. Why? 1. It is one of the first dysotopian and the second sci-fi books I’ve read besides Animorphs. 2. It is very action packed! 3. It was way better than Twilight. 4. It is proof that people can see beyond the body and fall in love with the person 5. Ian O’Shea with those blue eyes! Need I say more?
Now the first time I read this book I was in high school, very low self-esteem to say the least. Reading about Wanderer helped me see that the right people can see past what you are/what you have to do and see you. As someone that has a physical disability that people can obviously see when I am up and about that fact gave me so much hope. Every time I lose hope or feel I am not good enough this is the book I turn to. It reminds me that I found people who see me before I can once more. Now this isn’t a pity party post trust me my disability is part off me not all of me. This book to me is about defeating ignorance. Getting people to see a person for a person. For anyone having not read the book because of it’s author. Disconnect the artist from the art because it can change or help your world view and strengthen your belief.
Well Bookworms that is all for my gush of this book and 2nd day of my 30 Day Challenge. Another post is coming soon. I may be blogging all day to keep myself busy honestly. Have you read this book? What are your thoughts on it? What is a book you’ve read more than 3 times? Link me down below if you decide to start this challenge. Happy reading!
I haven’t yet read this book, I loved the twilight series so I should like it. I am the same really don’t want to put duplicates and trying my best not to Harry Potter either. 🙂

Thank you for reminding me about The Host. After reading the Twilight series I meant to check it out but it slipped my mind. I’m adding it to me TBR now. 🙂

I love this post! I haven’t had a chance to read this yet (I do own it though!) but your review made me want to pick it up even more! I love how you tied it to your disability because often times the best books are those we can connect to on a really personal level. Thank you for giving me a new perspective on it! ❤
