Hey Bookworms! So this is a topic I’ve wanted to talk about for a while because I think I may have a problem. So instead of putting it off any further with my normally rambling intro lets get to it.
Do I go Overboard on Overdrive?
So for those of you who don’t know I take the bus to work, but not just any bus it’s called the paratransit which is a ride share system, so my longest ride home can be 2 and half hours long. So I obviously need something to keep myself occupied, right? My normal go to for this is Overdrive my library’s app which allows you to download books. My favorite thing to download are audio books.
The thing is the amount I’ve been picking with only 21 days to read them from when they’ve gotten checked out is getting to be a bit much. Honestly? The most I’ve taken out is maybe 8 to 10? Guys it’s bad… I think it’s my way of coping for not buying books, which would be the normal way to cheer myself up in the past, but with a full time job that requires staring at screen for 8+ hours a day it makes it hard to want to stare at a screen or print for that matter. Audiobooks are the only thing that have kept me connected lately.
But does anyone else have this problem? Checking out way too many books that we know we won’t have the time to read? It’s just the weirdest thing for me to go from not liking libraries because I had give books back to checking out too many? What are your bad book habits. Let me know in the comments down below. Kinda disappointed this idea wasn’t a longer one, but any way happy reading and have a great start to your week!
