Hey bookworms! I hope this Tuesday finds you well. Meanwhile I am writing this on Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday and doing this in advance, although this is a past topic since I haven’t done one in forever. This topic … Continue reading
Hey Bookworms! I’m baaack at least for this post… I’m still trying to figure out how to use my weekends for work. I’m tired because of how busy the work week has been, but I’m hoping it calms down in … Continue reading
Hey bookworms! I know I haven’t done a TTT in a while, but I needed a distraction from the stress of school work. I know this post probably won’t be up on a Tuesday, but the important part is I … Continue reading
Hey Bookworms! It’s been a bit since I’ve done a Movie Monday post, but I saw a booktuber post a video I was totally inspired by, so I am springing off of her video. For those of you who don’t … Continue reading
Hey Bookworms! I am scheduling posts now and I know this one should’ve gone up yesterday, but I have been having a lazy streak. I am also sleepy as writing this, so this post will be on the short side. I hope you still enjoy because I will be talking about 2 of my favorite subjects: Books and movies so let’s begin!
Day 19: Favorite Book to Film
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
I read this book in 11th grade, so being forced to read wasn’t my favorite. Now looking back I want to try and read it for pleasure. I remember the imagery and symbolism was amazing and let’s face it I was just too young to appreciate it. The adaption was just as beautiful and covered the key points very well. This book and movie takes you on journey and love its hints of magical realism. It makes you think and wonder which version is true. The movie is one of my favorites and one I wish I owned! Here is the trailer for you to enjoy. So Bookworms tell me what your favorite adaption is! Have you read this books or watched this movie? Happy Reading and Watching!
Hey Bookworms this post might not get up on Monday, but I am starting Monday night so it counts! I needed to quite down my mind a bit, so I thought I’d do another one of my movie confession posts. This is a part 2 post of movie adaptions I have watched, but haven’t read yet either because I was too excited to see the movie or didn’t know it was a book! For Part 1 you can look if you want to see my how bad I am with the first 10! As for the links it will be the same as the last one the title will hold the goodreads link and below that will be the movie trailer. Hope you enjoy it! These are ones I can name off the top of my head.
This was a book always difficult when I was younger to finish because of it’s length. I am hoping that now that I am older I can fix that issue now that I have a better attention span
The problem with this book it was a library book and school got in the way of reading when I was younger
This one was required reading when I was younger and every time I was required I rebelled. I do want to read this now though!
I remember being read part of this, but don’t think it was ever finished. So I count it as unread.
I didn’t know this was a movie till I was watching the movie one night! So definitely gonna buy it ASAP!
I’m in love with this movie and want to read the comic as soon as I can!!!
This movie is inspirational especially the fact of how blogging helped her through her life. So I want to read this as soon as I can
8. Marley & Me
With this story the way the movie is narrated it makes me wonder if the articles have the same voice, so I need it as soon possible
My favorite childhood movie, but until I got older I never knew it was a book, so I want it so bad!
This is one of my favorite movie period pieces, so I want to see how the film took from the words.
So that’s all for now bookworms! Started this post Monday, but finished on Tuesday. How are you when it comes to adaptions? How strict are you with watching films before reading. Sadly this list gets longer, but I do love most of the movies I watch. I love to live in the world of stories whether it’s a book, comic, movie, show, or game! Which of these that you’ve read or watched is your favorite? Which should I read first? Comment down below and let me know! Happy reading and watching!
Hey bookworms! It’s me again. I was watching Booktube this morning and saw a few Friday Reads videos, and I thought I would do my own… Well at least the blogging equivalent too it. Friday Reads is a chance to discuss what I plan or hope to read over the weekend. Honestly? I am feeling a little slumpy despite my intake of books. My attention span just to be all over the place or I am just too sleepy to physically read a book. I hope it goes away over the weekend though because I really want to participate in another readathon, but that is a post for Sunday hopefully. So here is what I hope to read over the weekend!
1. The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows
This is library book and it is due next week. I only am in 2 chapters in, but it is good so far plus the cover is pretty! So yea hoping to finish it this weekend!
2. A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
I’m doing a buddy read with Paige from The Paige-Turner. We read 12 chapters a week from each book and cheer each other on, so I want to finish at least 12 chapters by Sunday
3. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
This was my personilized Uppercase book for May, so I hope to finish this one up by Monday at the latest because My June one gets here!
4. Everneath by Brodi Ashton
This one is due on the 20th so I need to also hurry up and read it. I hope it is as good as the author painted it to be at the book Festival in October!
5. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
I have the audio book from the library, so I’m hoping it pulls me out of my slump like audio books have lately. I plan to start it in a bit =)
So Bookworms, that is what I plan to read this weekend! What is on your reading agenda? What do you do to fight a slump? Have you read these? Which should I look forward too most? Let me know in the comments! Another post will be up soon! Happy reading!
PS: Just for fun here is what I’m currently listening to! Does anyone know if there are any Swan Princess Retellings book wise?

Hey bookworms! I went to the library today and got 5 books I had on hold, so I thought I would share them with you. I love scanning books at the library, so I’m getting more excited to go each time. I would’ve taken pictures, but we haven’t had the best lighting today with the gloomy day, so I am just going to include the covers from goodreads. I also got a gift from a book friend and want to share that (I did manage a picture of that though). I hope you guys enjoy.
Library Book Haul
1.Ms. Marvel, Vol. 1: No Normal by G. Willow Willson (author) and Adrian Alphona (artist)
I already read this and really liked it! The art style was really good, but i am picky so it was a 4 out of 5 stars for me and the last part confused me a little.
2. Vampire Academy: The Graphic Novel by Richelle Mead (Author), Emma Vieceli (Illustrator), and Leigh Dragoon (Adapter)
I finished this one as well and it is an example of why I am hesitant to get library books… I was turning the page and at least 4 pages came out. I had a little freak out moment before continuing. I am going to have to walk it in when I turn it in… Getting past that I loved the art work and how the character expressions were portrayed. I was a little sad to see some of the storyline being cut, but overall it made me fall in love with the VA series more… If that is possible. This was a 5 out of 5 stars for me!
4. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
This old book is getting a lot of hype I decided to check into it because I also loved the movie. I got this one in audio book because I am very addicted to audio books at the moment and this one is only 5 discs, so I could finish it in a day =)
5. Daughter of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
I did not expect this book to be this huge! I read the first in audio book, so I didn’t get the sense of how big it was. I am eager to see what happens next, but I do wish the library owned the audio book because the narrator is the same as the first and I enjoyed her first.
The Gift I Received
As you guys may or may not know I have been trying to be more active in the book community. One way of doing this is through twitter. I have felt the support tenfold and made a few friends from all over! It is proof that books bring us together from all over the world. One of my new friends Angela who has a booktube channel offered to send me a gift, since she had it done for her. That is the amazing thing about the book community to make others feel more welcome. She sent me these two things:
The book an Ember in the Ashes was so I can participate in a readalong with her and another bookworm on the 17th. Feel free to tweet me at @CKReads if you want to join us To be honest I am a little nervous to tackle this book, but I am excited to have interaction as I read. She also gifted me one of my favorite movies! I adore Jude Law and am so happy to have this. I plan to return the favor as soon as I am able! Even if you don’t give gifts it is good to have people to lean on at any moment. I definitely want to talk more about the community, but that is for another post I am going to host with The Blogger The Paige-Turner, so look for that soon. Well that is all I have to say for now bookworms! How do you feel about tackling hyped books? Have you had any bad library experiences? What are you reading next? Let me know in the comments!
(PS: You can now find me on Bloglovin: Follow my blog with Bloglovin )
Hey Bookworms! Movie Monday is a feature on my blog where I talk about movies I have watched, adaptions, or just reviews. This post will talk about adaptions, but be I will be books of adaptions I still need to read! I know, I know horrible of me, but I don’t always know they are a book when I first see the movie, or I am too eager to see the movie to read before I get a chance to read the book. So in this post I will link the Goodreads in the and place the trailer below. Hopefully this will make it easier to find both!
2. The Namesake
Well bookworms I will leave you with these 10! Tell me if you would like me to do another one of these because shamefully I have more. If you read any of these I would love to know which one you think I should start first. Do you always read the book before the movie, or do you let it slide sometimes? Which ones have you let slide? Which of these movies are your favorites? Which of these do you still want to watch? Let me know in the comments! I am always up to talk! Happy reading and watching!
Hey bookworms! I just felt the need to post since I haven’t much this week. I’ve been letting my computer rest, so I just thought I’d mention what I’ve been up to this weekend (which has been pretty lazy) and then at the end a note to you all =)
Weekend Wrap-Up:Books I Read
1. Amulet Volume 1: The Stonekeeper by Kazu Kibuishi
This was a cute book, but the art work wasn’t my favorite so it was a 4 out of 5 stars for me!
1. Enthralled by Kelley Armstrong and others
Honestly I only read 2 stories I wasn’t feeling into reading a collection. Both of them were 5 stars though: 1. Giovanni’s Farewell by Claudia Gray 2. Facing Facts [Darkest Powers] by Kelley Armstrong. I will probably try and pick this up in the fall, but didn’t have the attention span right now.
2. If You Could See Me Now by Cecelia Ahern
I started this audiobook on Saturday and fell in love and am still listening to it but hope to finish it tonight! I love that it has 2 narrators and just the concept is so interesting. Definitely recommend it!
What I Watched
I went to see Spy with my family on Saturday and really liked it and the cast was amazing. This was a 4 out of 5 for me and the theater closer to my house now has luxury seats as well, so it was a very comfortable experience. Can’t wait to see more movies there over the summer =)
My Note to You All
I am really appreciative to you all. You guys are the reason I love doing this, and even more I love reaching out in the community. You guys have seen me on bad days and cheered me on for my hard work. I just wanted to take a minute to say how much it means to me. For those bloggers who haven’t joined twitter I highly recommend it because you make great friends surprisingly fast. Books bring us all together, so keep connecting over them in every way. They help me connect. My blog has kept me going in this rough patch in life. I am so happy to have reached 200 followers! I just can’t believe it. I am grateful for all my readers and the people who have been commenting and tweeting. I love feeling a part of a community. For those of you who tend to be shy commenting on blogs I recommend doing it because sometimes your comments can make someone’s day. As a thank you to you all I plan on hosting a give away very soon. I promise to post more. There is another post coming after this one! Happy reading!
