Hey bookworms! I know it’s a few days late, but I really wanted to do this week’s Top Ten Tuesday which is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish where there is a weekly bookish question or … Continue reading
Hey bookworms! It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by the lovely blog The Broke and The Bookish. Now I wasn’t sure I was going to do this topic today, but seeing the other posts made me curious. Curious … Continue reading
Hey bookworms! Sorry I’ve been gone for a few days, but I’ve been having technical issues and pain issues too. Basically me and my computer are falling apart at the same time… Me because of the monsoon season weather and my scars and knee like to act up when it’s about to rain. My computer is just old… But you probably want to hear about books right? I’ll get started on the happier subject. Which days 15&16 were the hardest decisions of my life! It felt like choosing between friends and let’s face it we all know that is wrong! This is a challenge after all which means I have to answer it… The struggle was real guys!
Day 15: Favorite Male Character
So many of these males were part of my developing as a teen and as a person in general. These characters have helped me see that not all problems are solved with harsh words or force. That some males even if rare can see a girl. Not for who she is physically, but on the inside. Some can stay true and loyal friends. Now who am I choosing. I thought long and hard before I finally picked the one who first stole my heart in my teen years:
Let’s face it he was my first book book boyfriend. I let him go when it came to the Bloodlines series according to my general rule with book boyfriends but that is a different story. In both of these stories Adrian has problems and he has serious flaws. He is/was someone I could hope to find in real life. Someone who given the support can conquer his support and all his vices. He is tall, artistic, sarcastic, a bit crazy, and has this lazy cockiness that makes it something worth getting past. He isn’t the best fighter but will use his abilities to helped his loved ones. Lets face it he is not sane all the time, but neither am I. Mead has a way of painting characters that all be it sexy are people you can find in real life unlike most YA male leads. For the longest time I knew these characters could not exist, but with Adrian I knew there was a chance to find someone like him. Okay and trust me I am revisiting the VA books over the summer to compare his growth in the two series. Plus I want to meet him again for the first time!
Day 16: Favorite Female Character
This was so hard because I am trying not to be repetitive and name the same characters over and over again. I think I have changed my mind at least 5 times, but I am just going to say the one that is popping into my head right at this very moment and go with it!
Bridget Vreeland from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Series
Honestly this series was one of the contemporary books I adored when I was younger. Waiting for the release of the 3rd and 4th after I read the first two. Wanting to know what happened to these girls. Hoping they had advice for me when I faced their challenges. Honestly I relate to each of these girls in a lot of ways. I see parts of myself in each of them, and maybe it’s what I’m facing now that makes me think of Bridget.
She is a lot of time the energy in the group. The sunshine and strength. The one who sees what she wants and goes for it full speed ahead, but then when facing something hard she closes it out and avoids it for as long as she can until she can’t. It hits her and drags her down. Her free spirit ambles in direction in denial because she has lost control. That is how I feel right now dragged down with no self control, but through her sisters and her goals she always finds herself once again. She is flawed and broken. Shiny on the surface, but someone that needs help underneath. I understand this and get how it’s hard to want to reach for help, but she does it and so have I. She will be my role model through this time. She made it through I can too.
Well that is all for now bookworms! Again sorry for being MIA but life happens I guess. I hope you can forgive me! Would you have been able to make these choices, and if so who would you have picked? Who were your favorite characters in the books I mentioned? Maybe you can help add more to my library TBR. I do adore talking about books! Let me know in the comments below. Happy reading!
Hey Bookworms! It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday post! These weekly posts are hosted by The Broke and The Bookish where they give us a weekly topic and we answer with books or book related answers! Today’s topic is my top 10 Books of 2015, so far. It is so odd and makes me feel so much better that 2015 hasn’t been the easiest year for me. My books are have what kept me going as well as this blog. So let’s get started and these books are in no particular order!
Top 10 Books That Stole My Heart in 2015
1.Stardust by Neil Gaiman
I’ve gushed about this book on the first day of my challenge, but seriously this is the perfect story if you feel like you need a fairy-tale in your life!
2. The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead
This book was the perfect wrap-up for the series and some interesting reveals for the VA series that will leave you in shock! I love the strength and love in the book. There will be a special post involving this book ASAP, so be on the lookout. I do not want to see the VA world end and I’m hoping she will do some novellas I am yearning for!
3. Vampire Academy: The Graphic Novel by Richelle Mead (Author), Emma Vieceli (Illustrator), Leigh Dragoon (Adapter)
Seriously this was amazing and made me love the story and world even more! I love how the illustrator captured their personalities perfectly through their gestures! Just need my own copy asap!
4. Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods by Rick Riordan
I loved this book it provided me a laugh when I needed it. I love Percy’s sense of humor and I love the illustrations I want a paper copy of this too, so I can just show it off!
5. Pokemon Adventures Volume 1 by Hidenori Kusaka
Honestly I am obsessed with these graphic novels. I have always been a big Pokemon freak whether it has been the show or the games. I am learning more about the world from the graphic novels and adoring it!
6. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge
I have gushed about this book a lot, but seriously it is my new favorite. I can’t help it! It’s good to have a not perfect all good herione
7. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
This was an audiobook listen that I gifted myself. I loved the mythology and how it wove into it especially since I haven’t read much about Chimera. I am glad I waited till the hype died down to enjoy and form my own opinions of this book. Hope I love the next two books as well!
8. Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour
I loved the sweetness of this story as well as the innocence. The ability to find and accept yourself. The peek into movie making. It definitely hit my craving for a sweet kiss and I definitely would pick up something else by this author!
9. The Book of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern
Honestly when I first started this story Tamara got on my nerves a bit, and I almost stopped listening, but I am more than happy I continued. She had some growth and it was a good coming of age story! Plus the nuns!
10. If You Could See Me Now by Cecelia Ahern
Honestly it was the sweetest story. It had harsh and sad parts, but it was needed to appreciate the sweetness. It also had amazing magical realism. I definitely need to own my own copy in all formats. This is definitely my second favorite Ahern book! She does not disappoint! Her books also take me traveling each time.
Well bookworms those are my choices for this time around! What are your favorite books so far? Have you read any of these books? What about books with magical realism? What’s your favorite Cecelia Ahern book if you’ve read any. Let me know and link me your Top Ten Tuesday post down below!
Hey bookworms! I went to the library today and got 5 books I had on hold, so I thought I would share them with you. I love scanning books at the library, so I’m getting more excited to go each time. I would’ve taken pictures, but we haven’t had the best lighting today with the gloomy day, so I am just going to include the covers from goodreads. I also got a gift from a book friend and want to share that (I did manage a picture of that though). I hope you guys enjoy.
Library Book Haul
1.Ms. Marvel, Vol. 1: No Normal by G. Willow Willson (author) and Adrian Alphona (artist)
I already read this and really liked it! The art style was really good, but i am picky so it was a 4 out of 5 stars for me and the last part confused me a little.
2. Vampire Academy: The Graphic Novel by Richelle Mead (Author), Emma Vieceli (Illustrator), and Leigh Dragoon (Adapter)
I finished this one as well and it is an example of why I am hesitant to get library books… I was turning the page and at least 4 pages came out. I had a little freak out moment before continuing. I am going to have to walk it in when I turn it in… Getting past that I loved the art work and how the character expressions were portrayed. I was a little sad to see some of the storyline being cut, but overall it made me fall in love with the VA series more… If that is possible. This was a 5 out of 5 stars for me!
4. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
This old book is getting a lot of hype I decided to check into it because I also loved the movie. I got this one in audio book because I am very addicted to audio books at the moment and this one is only 5 discs, so I could finish it in a day =)
5. Daughter of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
I did not expect this book to be this huge! I read the first in audio book, so I didn’t get the sense of how big it was. I am eager to see what happens next, but I do wish the library owned the audio book because the narrator is the same as the first and I enjoyed her first.
The Gift I Received
As you guys may or may not know I have been trying to be more active in the book community. One way of doing this is through twitter. I have felt the support tenfold and made a few friends from all over! It is proof that books bring us together from all over the world. One of my new friends Angela who has a booktube channel offered to send me a gift, since she had it done for her. That is the amazing thing about the book community to make others feel more welcome. She sent me these two things:
The book an Ember in the Ashes was so I can participate in a readalong with her and another bookworm on the 17th. Feel free to tweet me at @CKReads if you want to join us To be honest I am a little nervous to tackle this book, but I am excited to have interaction as I read. She also gifted me one of my favorite movies! I adore Jude Law and am so happy to have this. I plan to return the favor as soon as I am able! Even if you don’t give gifts it is good to have people to lean on at any moment. I definitely want to talk more about the community, but that is for another post I am going to host with The Blogger The Paige-Turner, so look for that soon. Well that is all I have to say for now bookworms! How do you feel about tackling hyped books? Have you had any bad library experiences? What are you reading next? Let me know in the comments!

Hey bookworms! How are you all! So I was struck today by an idea to create a book tag! I’ve never done this before, so I hope my questions make sense and are fun. I am nervous to put it out there, but maybe it will go far!
The Book BFF Tag!
1.Setting the Example: A pair/group of book bff’s that you love
Rose and Lissa from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
2. Childhood Bestie: Which book character would you have like to grow up with?
America Singer from The Selection Series by Kiera Cass
I know most people find her annoying, but I adore her and her talents and wit. I would also be a 5 and we could play duets together!
3. Frenemy: Which book character would bring out your competitive side?
Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series by Rick Riordan
She is just super smart and I would be competitive on who knew more mythology!
4. Fashion Guru: Who would be the bestie whose closet you’d want to raid or would you want to go on a shopping spree with?
Eadlyn Schreave from The Heir by Kiera Cass
I know I know this is part of the selection, but technically I consider it a spinoff series. She designs her own clothes! I am short and would love her to design clothes for me that are more appropriate for my age.
5. The Bad Influence: Which character would you want to commit a small act of rebellion with? (go skinny dipping, sneak into a movie, have a drag race with, etc.)
Kami Glass from Unspoken by Sarah Reese Brennan
6.Blood Brothers: Which character would you want to be your surrogate big brother/sister? (You can do both if you want)
Eddie Castile from The Bloodlines series he is in VA too, but is much more prominent in this series. He is always there for Sydney and he makes me giggle!
7. Mother Hen: Which character would you want to be by your side when you’re having a bad day to cheer you up?
Kelsey from The Tiger’s Curse Series by Colleen Houck
She would make me cookies and we could watch movies. Have a girl day!
8. The Counselor:Which character would you go to for relationship advice (or) confide a secret to?
Stevie Rae from The House of Night Series by PC and Kristin Cast
She has always been on of the truest of the nerd herd. She always gives good advice and is there for all her friends. I know this series was a long one, but she stayed true the whole time. The last few books bugged me but I overall have a soft spot for this series it brought me really great friends!
9. More than friends:Who would be your book bf/ gf (if you like both genders you can choose one of each, but only one choice per gender!)
Kishan Rajaram from the Tiger’s Curse Series again by Colleen Houck
I know I know 2 characters from the same series, but I am really picky with book bf’s. He is my heart really as much as a fictional character can be especially in the last 3 books. I feel like he would truly see me and see the beauty behind the disability. Yes I am in love don’t judge
As for a book gf: No girl has really caught my eye or broken the mold or made me want to put them anything farther than the friend zone but things can change ^_~
10. Tag some Book Buddies!
1. The lovely young ladies at A Fangirl’s Opinion
2. Niki Hawkes at The Obsessive Book Seller
3. Analee from Book Snacks
4. Jenny Duffy from The books, The Art, and Me
5. Christine from Girl in the Pages
6. Hayley from Hails Hearts NYC
7. Sierra from TheBookSpook
8. Cristian from The Bookish God
9. Samantha from Thoughts on Tomes
10. Anyone else who thinks this seems fun!!!
You guys don’t have to do it, but It would make me happy if you did! If you decide to do the tag don’t forget to tag me, so I can see your answers please. I am so excited to have created this tag! Hope you have fun with the questions. I even had trouble answering them. My lack of variety either proves commitment to my favorite books or my need to read more… I choose both XD Hope you enjoyed this bookworms! I know this is two posts in one night, but this one has been one I’ve been working on for weeks. I just wanted to get it up when it was done! Happy reading!
