Spring Wrapup: Better Late than Never

Hey Bookworms! I hope you’re having a good day/ night/ afternoon, so far. I know once again this is late, so I want go through the normal excuses, but I wanted to get this done. So here is what kept me company through my favorite season of the year. Anywho, let’s get started!

 

April

1. An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

Review This fed my faerie love in every single freaking way!!! It stuck to some of the older original myths and had an AMAZING kiss! My first 5 star read of the year and I need my own copy!!!😍😊🧚‍♀️

2. The House of Hades by Rick Riordan

I gave this one a 3 out of 5. Although it had a lot what I love, but it had a lot of parts where it dragged and lost me quite a few times.

3. The Lonely Hearts Hotel by Heather O’Neil

I get there are tragic tales of the the 20’s, but these characters barely were able to redeemed. The only way it was comparable to The Night Circus was that the lovers were star-crossed. I had to stop myself from dnfing it.

4. The Winter Horses by Philip Kerr

5 out of 5 stars. It was the first book to make me bite back tears this year and the narrator is one of my favorites as well.

5. A Brief History of Montmaray by  Michelle Cooper

 3 out of 5 stars. I  think I’m noticing a theme of me liking historical fiction again. I liked the journal formatting but lost me with some of the slow points.

6. The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

4.5 out of 5 stars. The ending was so sweet and gave me all the good feels. It also made me feel accomplished finally finishing this series.

7. Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley

5 out of 5 stars. It hit my feels in all the right ways and really shows the bond we can have with our fur babies.

8. The Buried Giant by  Kazuo Ishiguro

I gave this book a 3 out of 5 stars. This was one time I regretted going in blind because I had no idea what was going on half the time, but I loved the arthurian themes.

9. The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman

I love reading these via audio book it’s like listening to a radio play! 4 out of 5 stars!

10. Saga Volume 8 by  Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples

I love Hazel’s voice and the topics this volume touched. I love this series, but I am curious as to how this series will end. 4 out 5 stars!

11. The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan

Finish one Riordan series and that leads to another, and in my opinion it is better to start a series when it’s done, so I can pick up the next book whenever I want to. I loved Magnus’s sense of sarcasm and Sam’s strength. Honestly, loved all the characters, it was a good start. 4 out of 5 stars.

 

Now you can see how I’ve fallen behind, but most of them were good reads. I am sorry it’s taking forever with this and that I’m probably the worst at doing this, but it is keeping my creativity alive when I can. Anyway what have you all been reading?
